Choose a place from the list

Choose a time or select “I don’t know”.

Read the phase alongside the percentage

Illumination describes how much of the lunar disc appears lit. A similar percentage can occur as the Moon waxes or wanes, so the phase name also places it within the cycle. The label is descriptive, not a claim that your birth coincided with the exact instant of a full or new moon.

Use the local birth time

Your selected place supplies the time zone for the calculation. This matters particularly around midnight, when the local date can differ from the date elsewhere. If the time is unknown, noon is an explicit reference rather than a guessed birth time.

Keep the date in a personal gift

After exploring, you can create a digital date portrait with names and a dedication such as “The day you brought a little more light into our lives”. Preview it before buying. The purchased gift is a downloadable PDF for you to print, including A4 and A3 options.

Can I see a photograph taken on my birthday?

No archive photograph is supplied. The phase is calculated for dates from 1940 to today, independently of weather availability.
